Frequently Asked Questions

How does Chiropractic work?

Chiropractic works by putting movement into a joint.  When we assess the problem area, we also are assessing the muscles surrounding that joint.  When muscles surrounding a joint are in spasm, the pain cycle begins.  If not treated in a timely matter, the joint will eventually start to degenerate.

Once I start chiropractic care do I always have to come in?

Not true.  It is up to you when you come in and how often.  All we can do is make suggestions based on experience.  However, once a person is out of pain and knows what it is like to feel good, they often continue care.  Most do not want go back to the way they once felt.  This does not mean they have to come back every week or even every month, it is their decision.

How does Chiropractic help low back pain?

Low back pain is a common problem people seek out our office.  There are many muscles, ligaments, and tendons that all affect the biomechanics of the low back.  Also contributing to the problem is alignment of the pelvis, hips, knees, and feet.  When one of these is not in proper alignment and not corrected, we start to see low back pain due to compensation.  We also take into consideration disc integrity, injuries, repetitive stresses and poor muscular strength.  The goods new is if caught and treated early the pain could go away faster!  We have been able to "save" many low back pain and disc sufferers from surgery, which is always our #1 goal.  Many medical doctors in our area refer to us becuase of our quality care, exceptional results and our willingness to work with medical professionals in the Omaha community.

How does Chiropractic help headaches?

Headaches are another common reason patient seek out chiropractic care.  There are many different types of headaches.  The most common type of headache is the Tension Headache.  We find tension headaches to be caused by a variety of factors: auto accidents, desk jobs, stress, and loss of cerivcal curve.  When we treat headaches we have to look at posture, cervical curve shape (often looks like a "goose neck"), neck and shoulder musculature and environment. Depending on the dynamics of your "headache" we will begin treatment.  What we will do is strip out and stretch the muscles of the neck and shoulders.  We will recommend and demostrate appropriate exercises which are very simple. We will adjust the segment.  We are extremely successful when treating headaches.  Patient are truely amazed when their headache is gone within a few treatments.  We are one of two offices in the Omaha metro area that is specialized and certified in structural rehabilitation.
