Facts About Chiropractic You Didn't Know

The number of people that are utilizing and benefiting from Chiropractic Care is growing. Our military  has also recognized this trend and is now promoting Chiropractic Care to our service men and women over the prescription of opioids (pain killers).   1. The term “chiropractic” is a combination of two Grecian words: cheir which means hand, and praktos which means done.

  2. The first chiropractic adjustment was given in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer who helped a janitor, Harvey Lillard, regain his hearing after a back accident he suffered 17 years prior.

  3. Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) go through a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, lab and clinical internships during their 4-year doctoral graduate school program. This does not include any certifications or training our doctors have had after school!! WOWZA!

  5. There are about 94,000 doctors of chiropractic in active practice across the globe.

  6. 32 National Football League teams  and 15 National Hockey League teams utilize chiropractic! All 47 teams have their own team chiropractor to boost help performance, treat musculoskeletal injuries and maintain wellness.

  7. Infants can benefit greatly from chiropractic care.The adjustment is adapted to suit their needs and is perfectly safe. In fact, the pressure to adjust an infant is no more than you would use to see if a tomato is ripe!  Nursing on one side, moves head into a certain position even after it is moved, and latching issues are all indications for an infant to see a chiropractor.

  11. Chiropractic is recognized and regulated by law in over 40 countries. In the United States, D.Cs are licensed in all 50 of them and covered by the majority of insurance companies including the VA!
